Reveal employees and family members took to the Aurora Feed My Starving Children location on April 20th, 2018. Upon arrival, we discovered that our session would be packing infant food for Swaziland and Nicaragua.
As our team listened to instructions on the floor we were filled with excitement. Hairnets on, we soon began planning our team cheer (lead by Steven) that would be called out every time we filled an entire box with food packaged by us. “Feeding Babies in Burkina Faso!” became the chant we all roared across the room since our table identifier was Burkina Faso. I think by the end of the session, we were the team with the most pep and rally, since we happened to be the only ones still cheering!
Each of us worked together as a real ‘human supply chain’ to get the job done. At some points, parts of our supply chain tired out, so each piece of our chain worked hard to pick up the slack and assist team members when needed. Almost everyone was able to rotate jobs, and give a helping hand while packing food during our 2-hour session!
Eventually, the last song had sung its last note, and together our team cleaned the station, prayed for the safe arrival of the food, and anxiously waited for our final packing results. The final count displayed on the screen and we were shocked that collaboratively as a session we had packed over $13,000 worth of food! 61,776 servings of food later and we were finished.
Laughter and conversations were had all around, and our team had a fantastic time.
This corporate giveback was one of many that our team has participated in overall. Givebacks are important to our overall mission at Reveal, and we’re proud to say that this difference is what makes us the best. Please check out our other giveback stories here.
